Primary Headteacher job summary
Due to the retirement of our highly regarded and long-standing Headteacher an exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our school in the beautiful rural setting of north Cumbria. As Governors we believe in our school, it offers a unique and special place for children to learn and grow. We are looking to appoint a Head Teacher who will inspire, lead with vision for the future and build on our school’s strong Christian values. (Ofsted Outstanding (2102) and SIAMS Outstanding (2018)).

Lanercost Church of England Primary is a small, friendly school which provides an education based on brilliant basics and magical moments. We are lucky to have our own attached nursery. Our school has consistently grown and adapted with 2 new classrooms in the last 6 years.
Our school is committed to an enriched curriculum that extends beyond the classroom. This includes sporting opportunities such as Cricket, Handball, Football, Climbing, Tennis, Swimming, Gymnastics and more! Topic based experiences like hiking Hadrian's Wall as Romans, a Tudor Banquet in Naworth Castle and a trip to Long Meg for the Stone Age topic. Our school uses peripatetic staff for music, art, computing, Woodland Schools, PE and C-Inside.
We are a voluntary controlled Church of England School in the diocese of Carlisle.
