Maths Lead Teacher – Burford Primary and Nursery School
Required for January 2020
Main scale teacher plus TLR to be paid at £3721
This is a full time (27.5 hours per week), permanent position

We are a happy, pragmatic and creative school looking to appoint an inspirational leader to the post of Maths leader. If you are passionate about inspiring children, and staff, and are as ambitious as we are to create an exceptional, fun and inclusive learning environment, then we want to hear from you!

To be successful in your application, you will need to demonstrate that you are an outstanding teacher and leader. One of the key aspects of the role will be to lead on improving maths practice across school. To be successful, you will need to lead by example and have the skills to coach/mentor teachers to ensure their maths practice is always good or outstanding. This role will have half a day’s release time each week, meaning a full day out of class per week with PPA. The successful candidate will initially teach in Year 5.

You will be someone who can show they have the skills to motivate, lead and inspire our children, staff, governors, parents, trust colleagues and other relevant stakeholders.

Our new Maths lead will:
• be an outstanding maths teacher who can use this knowledge and experience to lead other teachers to become outstanding maths practitioners
• be knowledgeable about the maths curriculum and understand the learning journey in maths from EYFS to Key Stage 2
• care passionately about children and work tirelessly so all children in Burford reach their full potential in maths
• be able to communicate an inclusive attitude whilst setting high expectations for all learners in maths
• be a reflective practitioner who continues to look for ways to improve their own, and colleagues, maths practice
• be a team player with good interpersonal and communication skills who can lead maths with our small-but-friendly team
