Following the retirement of our Music teacher we are looking to appoint a Music/PPA teacher who will have the opportunity to supplement their salary by offering piano and guitar peripatetic lessons.
We are an “outstanding” school in the city of Cambridge and are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate music teacher. We are a one form entry primary school with an inclusive Christian ethos. We have a successful and dedicated team who have a direct impact on children's learning and providing them with skills for life.
The role will involve teaching all classes except Reception class one-hour discrete music lessons per week (0.3FTE), and preparing the children for services, masses and seasonal celebrations, planning class productions, running the school choir and supporting the school orchestra. In addition to this there will be PPA cover duties.
We are looking for:
- a commitment/understanding of Catholic (Christian) education.
- an outstanding classroom practitioner, to further develop the Catholic ethos of the school.
- a vision and creativity to move our school forward, committed to inclusion.
- inspiration and high expectations of self and others to support the development of the whole school community.
- ability to work with parents, multi-agencies and our wider parish and local community.
What the school offers its staff
We can offer:
- Enthusiastic children
- A friendly staff
- A well-resourced music room.
- A laptop and IPad
- A whole school commitment to music
- Excellent contacts and links to develop your own career.
- A city centre school which is accessible to all the universities, colleges, and music venues
This is a very popular school, and the children/parents have high expectations of music. In conjunction with Cambridge Music, we have established a Music School for the children to attend after school and develop their skills and knowledge further. We would like to hear from exceptional candidates, who already have experience at working in a primary school, to continue to build upon the many strengths of the school. Visits to the school are recommended and strongly welcomed.
