Fixed-term contract from May 2023 to cover a maternity leave.

The Primary Phase of William Hulme’s Grammar School (WHGS) is one of the most over-subscribed primary schools in Manchester. This is an exciting time to join the school as we continue our journey of moving to exceptional. We are looking for an outstanding, hardworking and inspirational teacher to join our dedicated team of staff from May 2023, to promote excellence in teaching and learning. The current Year 2 teacher will complete SATs with the children before handing over to you. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they:

William Hulme’s Grammar School is the second most over-subscribed school in Manchester and one of the most successful comprehensive schools in the country. WHGS is an all-through (3-18) Academy of over 1450 pupils with a wide range of abilities, ethnicities and backgrounds.

The Academy has a relatively new Sixth Form Centre, a two-form entry Primary Phase and has specialist rooms in the Secondary Phase, including fully equipped science labs, a library, ICT resource centre, music practice rooms, design, technology and art rooms. There is also a sports hall with changing facilities, along with full kitchen and dining facilities in the Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form.

Inspectors judged the school to be Good in all phases in its most recent inspection, May 2019
