Applicants should have relevant experience and/or qualifications to demonstrate their ability to deliver PE lessons as well as having excellent behaviour management skills. Our school is developing approaches to integrate active learning to meet all pupils’ needs by carefully adapting the planned curriculum across different subjects in such a way that all children get the same curriculum entitlement. This is part of the role.

The successful candidate will deliver PE, sports, play and active learning activities to children from ages 4 to 11. They must also be able to be patient, inspirational and inclusive in their work with pupils. Applicants should demonstrate an ability to be organised and pro-active and seek to forge good working relationships with parents and other staff working at Loxley and in other schools and agencies. Part of the role is also to evidence learning, share good practice with colleagues and keep records on pupil participation and progress. There will also be times when the successful candidate will be required to work at other friendly and welcoming local schools in the academy particularly Bradfield Dungworth Primary School however the great majority of time in the role will be spent at Loxley Primary School.

The job also offers some scope for the successful candidate to be innovative and take a degree of ownership over their duties whilst adhering to school policies. Roles like this do not come up very often at primary schools and we hope an ambitious, collegiate, hard-working and enthusiastic candidate is out there who can take on this role with gusto.

Candidates are warmly welcomed and strongly encouraged to come and look around our school.
