What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for an exceptional individual who will: -
Drive the school’s vision and values for SEND and inclusion.
As part of SLT, participate fully with whole school evaluation and improvement planning for SEND and inclusion.
Lead, manage and monitor SEND budgets to drive standards and secure good value for money.
Demonstrate proven ability to advise and support all staff in identifying barriers to learning, to enable the planning of in-class provision and interventions to meet the needs of pupils.
Prioritise time and tasks appropriately and efficiently, meet deadlines and thrive under pressure.
Work with senior leaders and staff to develop effective strategies to bridge barriers to learning through using the Graduated Approach.
Confidently analyse data and use appropriately to ensure progress is made by SEND pupils towards their targets.
Promote good school attendance through leading work with our administrator and family support worker to remove barriers to poor attendance.
Line manage our talented inclusion team and family support worker.
Build strong and effective working relationships with school staff at all levels, outside agencies and the local authority.
Work creatively with multi agency professionals and services to develop provision and support children to achieve improved outcomes.
Hold, be working towards or committed to undertake the National SENCO Award (unless qualified through performing the role of SENCO prior to and since September 2009).
Lead by example and model high quality teaching and learning across the primary age range for SEND pupils.
Play an important role in leading whole school systems for safeguarding children and act as an active member of our Level 3 safeguarding team.
