What skills and experience we're looking for
Our new music specialist will be enthusiastic, energetic and above all, absolutely passionate about teaching music to all children from EYFS to Year 6. They will be joining a collegiate-wide team of specialists, led by the Collegiate Curriculum Development Leaders, who support and collaborate with each other, to ensure equality of opportunity in each school, and have the aspiration and intention of creating outstanding music provision. The successful music specialist teacher will be the subject leader in each of the schools they work in and will also play a key role in developing the extra-curricular musical activities, supported by peripatetic staff from the local music services.
What the school offers its staff
The Newman Catholic Collegiate consists of one secondary and eight primary academies in the North Stoke-on-Trent / North Staffordshire area. This is an extremely exciting opportunity to work across a number of our Collegiate primary schools to develop a progressive music curriculum that is designed to feed in to the secondary curriculum and ensure the future of music stays vibrant.
We are extremely proud of our enthusiastic and ambitious staff who are committed to helping our students become the very best they can be during their learning journey from EYFS to Post 16 and beyond. We have already achieved an outstanding judgement in our first primary academy ‘deep dive’ OFSTED in music, and seek to develop partner academies to the same level. The Collegiate Directors are therefore seeking an ambitious and dedicated individual who can help us in our mission.
Further details about the role
Applications from ECTs (for whom excellent support is available) are welcomed. Those seeking part-time employment would also be considered.

The Collegiate is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people and expects all of its employees to share this commitment.
