What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Graduate with Qualified Teacher Status
  • Knowledge of current educational practice and issues in primary
  • An excellent classroom practitioner
  • Knowledge of provisions of national strategies, i.e. Literacy, Numeracy and ICT
  • Effective use of ICT to support learning
  • Statuary curriculum requirements and requirements for assessment, recording and reporting of pupils' attainment and progress
  • Knowledge of the current professional teaching standards
  • Experience of teaching in a Primary Phase
  • High level of written, oral and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to a range of audiences
  • High level of organisational and planning skills
  • Evidence of of sharing in and contributing to the corporate life of the academy
  • Work effectively as part of a team, relating to well to colleagues, pupils and parents
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to equality of opportunity for all pupils
  • Ability to investigate, solve problems and make decisions
  • Able to use own initiative and motivate others

What the school offers its staff

The academy is located in Worksop Nottinghamshire where we have strong links with parents and community leaders. The academy is a larger than averaged sized academy, catering for pupils from the Early Years Foundation Stage, through Key Stage 1 into Key Stage 2. There are currently 434 pupils on roll in reception to Year 6 and we also have 52 place nursery.

We are seeking to appoint a practitioner who is dynamic, enthusiastic and caring and who is committed to raising standards in our forward thinking school.
