Primary Teacher job summary
We have a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic, forward thinking Teacher with energy, intellectual capacity and determination to join our successful Academy and make a difference to the lives, aspirations and opportunities of our young people.
This role will involve working with students with a KS2 ability, but within a secondary setting. Primary experience is an advantage but is not a requirement. The post holder will plan and deliver a bespoke curriculum of English, Maths and Science to students with potential SEND, low cognitive ability, and/or behaviour issues in a small class setting. A key focus of this role will be targeting progress in line with national expectations and targeted intervention in English and Maths. In addition to the core subjects, the curriculum will also include social skills and behaviour management, therefore demonstrable experience in this area is desirable. Students in the nurture group are part of the mainstream academy and will attend lessons for all other subjects across the curriculum within the main environment of the academy.
The successful applicant will be coming to a multi-academy trust wide supportive learning environment, characterised by open management, and in the knowledge that they will enjoy the full support and care of the pragmatic (and down to earth) leadership team. We have a dynamic, innovative team of professional staff who want to make a difference to the lives, aspirations and opportunities of our young people. We would encourage applicants to visit the UKAT website to view the many employee benefits on offer https://www.universityofkentacademiestrust.org.uk/careers-with-ukat
Commitment to safeguarding
The University of Kent Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
In addition, the Trust will carry out an online search, once, as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This is intended to help us identify any incidents or issues that have happened and are publicly available online.
