Primary Teacher – Eliot Centre job summary

This is a fantastic opportunity for a well-qualified and ambitious colleague to make a real impact on the shape of our Eliot provision going forward. This role will involve working with students with a KS2 ability, but within a secondary setting. Primary experience is essential, but experience in an SEN setting is not.

The Eliot Centre is a specialist provision for up to 20 students in each academic year group who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

The 20 places are allocated between three specific groups of students:
• Up to 4 students with a specific learning difficulty (Dyslexia) identified as their primary need on the EHCP
• Up to 8 students with a specific Speech and/or Language Disorder identified as their primary need on the EHCP
• Up to 8 vulnerable students with specific literacy, language or communication difficulties and social vulnerability identified as their primary need on the EHCP

The post holder will work with our Vice Principal to devise a suitable curriculum, and the aim of this role is to support those students whose learning needs mean that they struggle to access the mainstream secondary curriculum.

If successful, you will join our academy and trust wide supportive learning environment, characterised by open management, with the knowledge that you will enjoy the full support and care of our pragmatic (and down-to-earth) leadership team.
