Primary Teaching Assistant - Bank job summary

St Mark and All Saints C of E Primary School are looking for bank staff who are enthusiastic, talented, energetic Teaching Assistants to help progress children and inspire them to learn new things. Although this is initially a casual contract it could lead to a permanent role in the future.

An excellent opportunity to join a school in The Good Shepherd Trust academy within easy reach of Guildford and the A3. St Mark and All Saints have well-resourced classrooms and a supportive staff team.

If a route into teaching is your destiny, the school can provide a package to support this growth; we will mentor you and provide opportunities for further development.

The role will include responsibilities such as: supporting children’s learning (Nursery to Year 6), undertaking playground duties, preparing resources, assisting the class teacher as well as a lunch duty. An interest in working with SEN children or in our Nursery setting would be an advantage.

What we are looking for:

GCSE grades of at least ‘C’ in English and Maths

Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent will be an advantage

The ability to read and write fluently, with confidence in maths

Self-confidence, common sense and maturity

A good sense of humour and effective communication skills

Adaptability and enthusiasm

SEN experience (desirable but not essential)

Be confident to work with pupils from Nursery to Year 6
