Principal job summary
TEAM Education Trust is a collective of mainstream and specialist schools across the East Midlands and Yorkshire, unified by our commitment to ensuring all pupils make exceptional progress.
As a Trust, we are anchored by our values of TOGETHER: Together, Opportunity, Growth, Enterprise, Trust, Honesty, Excellence, Respect. We are proud of our continuous work to offer high-quality educational experiences and provide a safe, nurturing environment for all pupils.
The Principal role at Stubbin Wood School is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and innovative leader to take our lead school to the next phase of its journey. We are particularly excited to welcome a leader who can inspire our community, collaborate effectively, and bring forward-thinking approaches to further develop our specialist school and wider provisions.
In this role, we are looking for someone who shares our commitment to high quality education, safeguarding, inclusivity, and supporting every young person’s right to success and celebration of their uniqueness. We expect our leaders to set high standards, embody our values, and collaborate with our Trust network to secure the best educational outcomes for all. You will be a visible and proactive leader, well-versed in strategic planning, SEND and inclusion, and adept at building positive relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals and stakeholders.
If you are ready to take on this rewarding role, we would be delighted to explore how your skills and vision align with our future priorities and plans. Please feel free to reach out to me for an informal conversation or to arrange a visit to Stubbin Wood School.
Thank you once again for considering this opportunity. We look forward to learning more about you and how you can contribute to our shared vision.
The TEAM Education Trust can offer the successful candidate the support to continue with the growth of the Trust, excellent renumeration and employment benefits as well as the potential for further career development.
For more information on our school, please telephone the TEAM Education Trust and ask to speak with the Executive Personal Assistant to the Trust CEO who will arrange for you to talk with one of our Executive Team. To learn more about our Trust, please see www.teameducation.org
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All school posts involve working with children and therefore the successful candidates will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records at an enhanced level. Further information about the Disclosure Scheme can be found at www.gov.uk/disclosure-barring-service-check
As an organisation assessing applicants’ suitability for positions which are included in the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order using criminal record checks processed through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), TEAM Education Trust complies fully with the code of practice and undertakes to treat all applicants for positions fairly. TEAM Education Trust undertakes not to discriminate unfairly against any subject of a criminal record check on the basis of a conviction or other information revealed.
TEAM Education Trust is committed to the fair treatment of its staff and potential staff, regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, responsibilities for dependants, age, physical/mental disability or offending background. We actively promote equality of opportunity for all with the right mix of talent, skills and potential and welcome applications from a wide range of candidates, including those with criminal records.
Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar a person from working in school. This will depend on the nature of the position and the circumstances and background of the offence(s).
At Application stage, you will be asked to declare Criminal Records. At interview, or in a separate discussion, TEAM Education Trust ensures that an open and measured discussion takes place on the subject of any offences or other matter that might be relevant to the position. Failure to reveal information that is directly relevant to the position sought could lead to withdrawal of an offer of employment.
Failure to declare a relevant conviction, caution or pending police action, will disqualify the applicant from appointment or result in summary dismissal if the discrepancy comes to light later.
