Principal: Bradford Girls' Grammar School job summary

Due to the retirement of the Principal following many years of distinguished leadership, we are seeking an individual with the drive, enthusiasm, and ambition to lead the school through the next stage of its development.

Bradford Girls’ Grammar School has a long history of aspiration and achievement, and maintains a considerably high reputation in the local community. The school serves an area of high deprivation and continues to deliver GCSE results that are consistently well above the national average. As a result, it remains one of the most oversubscribed schools in the region.

In 2013, the school made the transition from a reputable independent girls’ school to a thriving and successful Free School, which offers an excellent education and care for boys and girls up to the age of eleven and girls only through to Sixth Form.

The Governors now wish to invite applications from outstanding and inspirational leaders with considerable experience, who will drive forward teaching and learning and student progress, whilst leading the strategic development and quality improvement of the school.

The successful applicant will have a proven record of driving transformational change, and be ready to take up the challenge of leading this excellent school and making a strong contribution to the community it serves.

The Principal will be supported by an experienced leadership team and members of the Governing Body who have a wide range of professional skills and knowledge and vast experience of school governance.

If you are an inspirational leader who is looking for their next challenge, and who is confident you can take this school forward, then the Governors would like to hear from you.

The Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share in the commitment. This appointment is subject to a clear enhanced DBS check and excellent references.

Commitment to safeguarding

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.

childcare disqualification
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
