Cliff Park Ormiston Academy is based in Great Yarmouth, 25 miles from the vibrant city of Norwich and 8 miles from Lowestoft. The school is an 11-16 co-educational academy with 830 students, set in the coastal town of Gorleston-on-Sea.
The majority of our students live in the local Great Yarmouth area, with most students being of white British heritage, although the school has become more diverse and multi-cultural in recent years.
The proportion of students who have special educational needs is higher than the national average at both SEN support and those with an EHCP, as are the number of students who are eligible for Pupil Premium funding.
Students’ ability on entry is historically lower than average. The school has secured a positive Progress 8 score each year since 2017 and whilst the attainment and progress in the core subjects remains a key priority, the school continues to perform strongly in the open bucket subjects at both GCSE and BTEC
