We are looking for a Principal to lead Europa School UK, a unique UK state free school that is accredited to teach the European Schools’ curriculum and the highly respected European Baccalaureate.
Europa School UK is an all-through free school offering a multilingual and multicultural education from age 4 to 18. The school has three form entry in Reception and is consistently oversubscribed. All subjects in primary are taught in English for half of the week and in either German, French or Spanish in the other half. In secondary history and geography continue to be taught in the stream language up to the baccalaureate examinations.
The school places strong emphasis on sciences and is well suited to the employment opportunities in Oxfordshire. Europa School prepares students for outstanding success at universities in the UK, throughout Europe and beyond.
The Principal serves as the educational leader, responsible for managing the everyday academic operations, ensuring that all students are taught well and supervised in a safe learning environment that meets the approved curriculum, philosophy, mission and objectives of the school. The Principal needs to make sure that every decision taken is child-centred and will benefit the school community in some way.

Essential educational requirements
A university degree
National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) would be an advantage
A recognised qualification as a trained teacher or equivalent
Essential skills and experience
An outstanding command of English and preferably at least one other European language (advantageously French, German or Spanish)
Evidence of continuing professional development
Knowledge of science or an appropriate higher degree would be an additional benefit

September 2017 saw ESUK open the Secondary School, the final stage of a phased opening which began in 2012 with key stage 1. We offer a multilingual and multicultural education, with children taught in English and also either German, French or Spanish via full immersion. Other than language our emphasis is on science, well suited to the employment opportunities in Oxfordshire. Europa School inherits from its predecessor a history of preparing students for outstanding success at universities in the UK, throughout Europe and beyond. The primary has three form entry and is consistently oversubscribed. We are an accredited European School and received a good rating from Ofsted. The centrepiece of the Secondary School is the beautiful grade-II listed buildings of Culham College which has hosted a European School since 1978.
