What the school offers its staff

Greenwood Academies Trust are keen to appoint an inspirational and innovative principal for this ‘good’ thriving Northampton town school in the Kingsthorpe area. The current principal is due to retire at the end of this academic year after nearly seven years of dedicated and devoted service. This inclusive, warm and friendly academy supports the diverse needs of children aged 3-11 years. As a one form entry academy, the team works closely and collaboratively to deliver the best education for its children in a supportive and caring way. The learning environment is organised, bright and has flexible spaces to meet a range of learning needs. The large playgrounds and school fields are used well and provide additional learning spaces.

Pupils flourish with the care given by teachers and all the adults that support them. Mutual respect is strong across the academy. It is a lovely place to learn and work. Behaviour is good and there is a positive team spirit from all. Ofsted rated the academy as ‘good’ in October 2018. The academy team has not stopped in its pursuit of providing ‘good’ and effective provision for all. The academy has achieved the Careers Mark 2021 so pupils can thrive in the modern world and the academy has also achieved the Skills Builder Bronze Award 2022. The academy is in pursuit of gold in all that they do!

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum which meets a range of needs alongside a talented academy team. You will also work to further improve achievement across the academy identifying areas for development through accurate evaluation and quality assurance whilst ensuring that you work effectively with the local community to maintain the strong profile of the academy locally.
