Principal (Head of School) Brooklands Campus job summary

The post holder will assist the Executive Principal in the leadership and management of the school and actively contribute to all areas of school development and improvement. Under the direction of the Executive Principal, the postholder will take full responsibility for the day to day running of one campus. The Principal (Head of School) will be responsible for managing the daily operation of the campus, the supervision of students and staff, and the premises. This includes providing day-to-day direction and leadership that represents a consistent and effective model of integrity, excellence, collaboration and accountability.

The postholder will assist and support the Executive Principal to:
• shape the vision and direction of the school by setting out very
high expectations for achievement and standards
• maintain high standards of behaviour across the campus
• maintain effective lines of communication throughout the
school and across both campuses
• maintain and develop the ethos of the school and Trust,
including effective cross campus working

Walton High opened in September 1999 with 120 Year 8 students on its Walnut Tree campus. Since then it has grown year-on-year to become one of Milton Keynes' most successful and popular schools. It has been a privilege to be part of the school’s history. From its very beginning the school’s educational ethos has been rooted in the belief that an excellent education ignites a lifelong desire for learning; that it not only provides a young person with the skills and attributes needed to make a living and contribute positively to society, but also enables them to live happy and fulfilled lives.
In November 2016 the school entered the next phase of its development with the opening of its Brooklands Campus. By 2022 both campuses will have approximately 1500 students on roll, including Post-16.
