What skills and experience we're looking for
You will be able to provide strong leadership to the school and provide examples from your current role of making a difference and raising standards. You will see yourself as a teacher at heart, able to inspire others to learn and promote a broad and balanced curriculum that meets all children’s needs. You will also need to have excellent communication skills, be approachable and a good listener and able to deal with the everyday challenges that being headteacher of a village school brings.
As an innovative, motivational leader, you will have a commitment to your own professional development as well as those who work in your team and will contribute to the wider life both at the school and within the Trust. You will have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of current educational priorities and be able to demonstrate how these will influence your vision for the school moving forwards.
It is essential that you have experience of promoting equality and diversity and are fully up to date with the policies and procedures relating to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare. You must be committed to inclusion with an up to date knowledge of appropriate strategies and the type of support needed for children with special educational needs.
What the school offers its staff
Everyone at Hogsthorpe Primary Academy is committed to doing their best for each and every child. To do this we try to ensure our school is colourful, exciting and welcoming to all who enter it - a place where children and adults feel secure and confident to experiment and take risks, whilst always striving for excellence. We know that each of our children comes to school with different experiences, knowledge and skills and that each has different learning needs and preferred ways of learning. We therefore aim to match our provision to the needs of each child.
We try to develop the whole child through developing their academic knowledge, skills and understanding but also their spiritual, moral, social and cultural attitudes.
The school was judged to be good at its last inspection in June 2024 and is seeking a Headteacher who can provide the exceptional leadership that will lead the school to even greater success in the future. We believe in putting children at the centre of all we do and in providing an education that is exciting, engaging and fun.
Further details about the role
