The Board of Governors of Ibstock Community College are seeking to appoint a knowledgeable and committed leader to be Principal of this successful 11-14 academy. Essential educational requirements

Up to date knowledge about what research and inspection findings tell us about effective leadership, teaching and learning, and behaviour management in secondary education.
Knowledge and understanding of the principles of current education practice, qualifications and accountability, SEND, legislation and initiatives.
Knowledge and understanding of performance management of staff.
Knowledge and understanding of academy financial management, role of accounting officer and ESFA requirements.

Essential qualifications

Graduate with QTS who has worked extensively with secondary age students.
Has undertaken sustained professional development, especially in leadership and management, e.g. higher qualification, NPQSL or similar.

Essential skills and experience

Substantial and effective senior leadership as headteacher, assistant or vice principal.
Excellent teaching.
A proven track record of securing improvement in the quality of teaching and learning.
A proven track record of improving pastoral systems and behaviour management.
Experience of solving difficult problems in order to drive college improvement.
Proven track record of building a successful team and effectively leading and managing staff.
Experience of successfully managing whole college projects including budget planning and management.
Successful partnership with governors leading to school improvement.
Experience of engagement with parents and community to improve outcomes for students.
Experience of the British Values Agenda and Prevent Training.
Experience of leading a school through significant change.
