Our opportunity for you
We currently have a vacancy for a Principal at Landau Forte Academy Moorhead.
We are looking for a leader who is passionate about teaching, builds strong relationships with children, parents and colleagues and is comfortable in continuing a journey of rapid progress. In particular this academy requires someone with coaching skills, significant experience in moving schools forward and the ability to model outstanding teaching practise.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and welcoming Academy, with inquisitive children who are eager to learn. We have very high expectations of learning and behaviour and the current team have put in place policies and mechanisms in support of these expectations. Landau Forte Academy Moorhead is a ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ for Personal Development, we are looking for a leader who can continue this journey and quality assure everything in place so that Moorhead can achieve the greatest successes for its pupils.

Shaping the FutureAble to build a coherent vision of excellence for the Academy and has the ability to work rapidly towards this goal.
An inspirational leader, able to motivate and empower staff and pupils.
Able to make difficult decisions and follow them through.
A determination to raise standards across the Academy and ability to do so effectively.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent listening skills.
Experience of strategy formation and implementation at leadership level in an appropriate setting.
Leading, Teaching and LearningExperience of establishing and developing a range of successful strategic partnerships.
Substantial recent senior leadership experience in an appropriate Academy/School or similar setting.
An understanding of current and future curriculum developments across all key stages.
Experience of monitoring and evaluation, target setting, Academy/School improvement planning and curriculum leadership.

Is committed to personalised learning approaches, in order to ensure success for every child, including all vulnerable groups.
Experience of monitoring practice to ensure that devolved responsibilities are being carried out in order to improve the quality of teaching and learning across the Academy.

Landau Forte Academy Moorhead joined the Landau Forte family of academies in September 2012. We are a 4 – 11 primary academy under new leadership, pleasantly situated close to Derby city centre. We unashamedly have high expectations of all children at the Academy and this is supported by our highly dedicated tutorial and support staff.
The local area
Derby is a vibrant and exciting city, located right in the heart of the UK. The city has a developed arts and culture scene and the area has a great history. The Academy is located just a few minutes’ drive away from Derby city centre.
