About Tauheedul Islam Girls' High School and Sixth Form College
Tauheedul Islam Girls’ High School is a Muslim faith-based secondary school and sixth form for 11 to 18 year old girls, which welcomes pupils from all faiths and none. We are extremely proud to be one of the highest performing schools in the country, with the highest Progress 8 score nationally for our 2019 GCSE results. We have been graded as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in three consecutive inspections. Like all Star schools, we have a leadership specialism.

Who we’re looking for
We are looking for an exceptional Principal to lead us on our journey of sustained excellence.
We want to hear from ambitious, talented senior leaders and established Principals who will bring inspirational leadership to our school. You will be highly motivated and passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people with the natural ability to inspire and motivate both pupils and peers.
With substantial leadership experience as a Principal or Deputy, you will lead an approach that sees every challenge as an opportunity to continually improve standards of education and to foster an outstanding learning environment. As a Star leader, you’ll join the Star Academies family, a high-performing and supportive network of primary and secondary schools with some of the best leaders in education.
You will have:
A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status
Substantial experience of senior leadership and management within and across school settings
The ability to create, and secure commitment to, a clear vision for an effective and high achieving school

Tauheedul Islam Girls’ High School and Sixth Form College in Blackburn is an 800 place 11-18 girls’ secondary school, which includes a 200 place sixth form. It is a specialist humanities school. Like all Star schools, it also has “Leadership” as a specialism.
TIGHS was Star’s first school and has a strong history of excellence in every aspect of school life, achieving Ofsted “outstanding” on three consecutive occasions. In school league tables, TIGHS consistently ranks extremely highly on a range of attainment measures, including being the top school nationally for progress and overall performance in both 2017 and 2018.
