Principal job summary
The Winsford Academy is an 11 – 16 mixed comprehensive and founder member of The Fallibroome Trust - a ten school, cross phase Cheshire based MAT. Our intake is non-‐selective and we consider ourselves privileged to help to shape young lives in our community.
This is a fantastic school with a strong leadership team, committed staff, students who are keen to learn and are proud of their school.
Following a challenging period for the school resulting from Covid and its impact on pupils, we are looking to recruit a leader with vision, resilience and an optimistic outlook to work with experienced colleagues in the school and Trust team to support the school on the next phase of its development.
The current Head has secured a promotion, after leading and delivering improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to build on the foundations he has created with an established leadership team, whilst also providing the opportunity for you to really make a real difference to pupils’ outcomes and life chances.
Ofsted judged Winsford Academy to be ‘Good’ in May 2016. It has made strong progress and built the town’s confidence so that it is now oversubscribed in Year 7. The Academy is a focal point for the economic and cultural regeneration of Winsford and you will find a deeply committed community that will respond enthusiastically to your stewardship.
You will have the support of an effective, forward thinking Governing Body, committed to providing high quality education in an aspirational learning environment.
You will be fully supported by the Trust CEO and Deputy CEO and a central services team who deliver IT, Finance, Facilities and HR under the leadership of a COO and Chief Information Officer working collaboratively with an experienced School Business Manager.
