The Wensum Trust is seeking an experienced and proactive professional to take up the newly established role of Procurement and Contracts Manager, leading our Trust wide procurement programme.

This is a dynamic and varied position that requires close collaboration with colleagues across Estates, ICT, Finance, HR, and individual academies. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping procurement strategies that reflect our values and meet statutory obligations, ensuring high quality, cost-effective services that directly support our schools and the well-being of our pupils.

We are looking for someone with proven experience in:

  • Scoping and managing tenders
  • Evaluating bids
  • Overseeing contracts across a diverse range of goods and services

Confidence in navigating procurement legislation and contract governance is essential. Familiarity with the Procurement Act 2023 and the Academy Trust Handbook is desirable, along with a track record of monitoring contract delivery through KPIs and developing strong, sustainable supplier relationships.

The successful candidate will drive operational efficiencies and value-for-money initiatives across the Trust, promoting best practice in procurement and contributing to our strategic vision. Building meaningful relationships across our schools and central teams will be key to this role.

We value our staff and are committed to supporting their wellbeing. We have an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) which all staff can access 24 hours a day. The EAP provides counselling services, legal information and guidance, musculoskeletal services and online resources such as nutrition diaries, healthy eating plans, personal coaching questionnaires and tools and fitness programmes.

We care about bringing together the most able people, to help us achieve our vision of providing a rounded education for children, quality support for their families and opportunities to enrich our communities.

If you are passionate about delivering procurement solutions that make a genuine impact on educational outcomes, we would love to hear from you.
