What skills and experience we're looking for
Essential
- Proven track record of outstanding/good classroom practice.
- Proven track record of strong examination results.
- Proven track record in raising standards of student achievement.
- Leading and managing a Maths departmental initiative, which has had a positive impact on student outcomes.
Desirable
- Experience of teaching within an 11-18 school.
- Experience of curriculum design, development and implementation.
- Experience of leading teams.
- Experience of teaching Key Stage 5.
- Experience of exam board marking.
Essential
- Secure knowledge of the characteristics of outstanding teaching of Maths and the main strategies for improving and sustaining high standards of teaching and learning.
- Clear understanding of the Maths curriculum and its assessment.
- Ability to employ a range of effective teaching styles and assessment methods.
- Knowledge of departmental monitoring and tracking systems and their role in securing improvement.
- The ability to set and achieve challenging targets for both students and staff, to be able to monitor and evaluate performance and review practice.
- Ability to deliver bespoke CPD to colleagues.
· Excellent ICT skills.
Desirable
- Knowledge and experience of whole school improvement/strategic planning.
