Job description

We are seeking to appoint a talented and committed Progress Learning Leader to lead a team of tutors for a year group from September 2020. Initially this is likely to be at KS3 but Progress Learning Leaders experience years 7-11 and they rotate with their year group. The role has a Teaching commitment and all subject specialisms can be accommodated in this vibrant and exciting school.

Qualified Teacher Status

Essential skills and experience

Very good teaching skills
Experience of teaching across the 11-18 age range
Some leadership experience e.g. LL, Assistant PLL
Experience as a Form tutor
Ability to build effective working relationships with students and parents
Be approachable and supportive to both staff and students
Team player
Have a desire to lead others
Hold a further professional qualification
Have a positive approach to using ICT
Have an inclusive approach to education
Be positive, open and friendly with a good sense of humour
Be prepared to share knowledge and skills with other staff and encourage them to do the same
Have very good communication skills

About Sponne School

Sponne is an outstanding, over subscribed community comprehensive school with 1418 students aged 11-18 on roll and specialist status for Science and Music. Outcomes are very high with 78% students gaining grades 9-4 in both English and Mathematics ate GCSE.
