Sir John Deane’s is the country’s leading sixth form college, and we are looking to appoint a Progress Mentor on a permanent basis to start as soon as possible.

About The Role

This role is based at Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College; the country’s leading sixth form college. It is an excellent place to work where colleagues are recognised for their hard work and supported to develop professionally.

We foster a strong ethos of ambition and aspiration in all aspects of College life which means our students are hardworking and extremely well behaved. Our students are supported by dedicated pastoral and learning support teams who have an important role in facilitating our inclusive offer.

The College has exemplary teaching, learning and recreational facilities contained within a beautiful campus.

The Achievement and Support department is at the heart of the college and working as a Progress Mentor offers colleagues the opportunity to make a real difference to students. The successful applicants will work as part of an experienced team to support the well-being, social and personal development needs of students. The role is varied, and we are looking for adaptable, flexible and resourceful individuals who can manage constantly changing priorities.

What we are looking for

Experience of working with children

Ideally you will have proven success in improving student outcomes in a school or college.

An ability to build effective working relationships with both students and adults

A commitment to getting the best outcomes for students and promoting the ethos of the college.
