What skills and experience we're looking for

  • GCSE Maths and GCSE English at Grade C or above or equivalent at Level 2.
  • Good standard of general education to at least Level 3 or equivalent
  • Willing to undertake relevant training in Safeguarding (College will provide training as needed)

A brilliant pastoral opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people and playing a key role in the student journey throughout college. As part of the Progress Team, they will be central to delivering the highest level of support, working with the student, parent/carers, teachers, and other stakeholders to reduce barriers to learning and promote excellent attendance.

The postholder will build strong relationships with colleagues and provide structured support, liaising with other key pastoral teams such as learning support, wellbeing and Futures and refer to appropriate external services where appropriate.

Another exciting aspect of the role is the planning and delivery of age appropriate core content to a case load of groups. These sessions will be engaging, relevant and support students to develop personally, stay safe, understand the wider world around them and prepare them for their next destinations.

The postholder will also be part of a team of Safeguarding Officers and will work closely with the Safeguarding Lead to fulfill that role.
