Appointment of Projects and Estates Manager within Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust – A strategic role in the Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust which operates across multiple sites.

Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust was officially formed in February 2018 and is an ambitious and growing trust, in the process of expanding, which currently has four primary schools: Pudsey Primrose Hill Primary School, Pudsey Waterloo Primary School, Calverley Parkside Primary School and Armley Park Primary School.

Since forming, Owlcotes MAT has specialised in developing effective collaboration within its family of schools, providing school-to-school support and creating a multi academy trust focused on developing close, supportive and lasting partnerships.

We are now at the next stage of development and expansion and are looking for a highly motivated, creative and innovative person to provide strategic oversight of school estates and to manage estate improvement projects to enable us to develop and fully implement the Trust’s Strategic Plan.

The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO, CFO, Headteachers and site staff to drive capital and refurbishment programmes and be responsible for the Trust estates vision. You will lead on health and safety across the Trust, you will also have management responsibilities for Every, which is the software that drives compliance across our schools.

Ideally you will have experience of site management in an educational and/or a multi-site environment, but more importantly you will have the health and safety knowledge and awareness, a keen interest in schools, experience in managing projects, and the flexibility and determination to make a real difference to our Trust.

Your remit will include:

  • Managing the Trust’s Estate including premises improvements;
  • Ensuring health, safety and security, in line with best practice;
  • Support the CFO in procurement and monitoring of premises-based contracts;
  • Identifying opportunities to secure funding for building projects and enhancement of learning environments;
  • Project management of school refurbishment and building improvement work.

Ideally you will hold a recognised health and safety qualification and you must have a current driving licence and the use of a vehicle.

We need a committed team member with excellent organisational skills – with the ability to work independently, manage time effectively and prioritise workload with high levels of drive and resilience.
