Psychology Teacher 0.8 (maternity cover) job summary

Owing to a maternity leave we have a position for a KS5 teacher of Psychology available from January 2025 until the return of the current postholder.

Psychology is an extremely popular subject at JCoSS with over 100 students in years 12 and 13, owing to our outstanding record of A level results and excellent teaching. Our 2024 results place us in the top 25% of schools nationally and many of our students go on to study the subject at university. Psychology is part of the Science Faculty, and we teach AQA specification. Supportive Faculty and Sixth Form teams are in place, and this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an outstanding Sixth Form.

Our ALPS grade has been consistently 2 at both A level and GCSE, and our ‘Progress 8’ score is consistently significantly above national average. Supported by a strong programme, students every year gain places at Oxbridge and for Medical and Veterinary Study, as well as for a wide range of specialisms and competitive courses at prestigious institutions.
