1:1 Pupil Support Assistant - Part Time job summary
About this Role
Ashgate Croft is a large and complex area special school. We provide education and care for pupils with learning difficulties, including autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties and associated communication, behavioural and physical needs.
We are seeking to appoint a Pupil Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support and guidance to a year 9 pupil. You will be responsible for supporting the pupil’s care needs, which may include assisting them with transition around the school toileting, physical needs, changing, gastronomy feeding and eating programmes as necessary.
You will be required to carry out prescribed therapy programmes under the guidance of therapists and teacher and to assist teachers with general classroom preparation. Please see job description for full details.
Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. This vacancy is linked to a pupil for 20 hours per week, the hours are 11:45am-3:45pm (Monday -Friday.)
Your employment in this post will be temporary and is linked to funding for a specific student - this contract will come to an end when the student leaves the school, although this is not to be regarded as an assurance of employment for this period.
