The Meadows School – Pupil Welfare Support Assistant

Grade 2, £24,027 (whole year).

Permanent, Term-Time only.

20 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The Meadows School is a generic Special School providing high quality education to young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. The school has expertise in working with those who have complex needs in terms of their physical and sensory development, communication and interaction, as well as those with more moderate cognition and learning difficulties. The school provides education to over 130 students aged between 11 and 19 from Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Stoke on Trent. The school is organised through a combination of chronological age, key stages and learning needs.

The school is part of the Manor Hall Academy Trust and forms a Federation with Springfield School, a generic primary Special School.

We are looking for individuals who have a passion for children with SEN and are:

- Passionate about supporting children’s needs, providing care and seeing children make excellent progress in a Special School environment.

- Motivated, with high expectations for all learners.

- Committed to working with the whole school community.

- Able to contribute to life beyond their classroom.

We would expect the successful candidate to:

- Hold the pupils well-being and learning at the centre of all they do.

- Have good interpersonal skills, high standards and expectations.

- Provide basic first aid and administer medicines in accordance to the prescribed instructions and in line with policy.

- Liaise with parents on general pupil matters and welfare.

- Effectively, promote and develop the vision, aims and ethos of the school.

- Have commitment to working in partnership with parents and other agencies.

- Undertake training and implement new initiatives.
