The Religious Education Department is a highly successful and cohesive team who work effectively and supportively to ensure that our students make excellent progress and enjoy the subject. Year on year, our students make good progress at GCSE and A Level performance is exceptionally strong. There are lots of opportunities for students to develop their understanding of faith, their relationship with God and their place in the world outside lessons through trips and provisions such as retreats, liturgy and chaplaincy. The successful candidate will:
- Be an excellent, creative and passionate teacher with the energy to inspire, motivate and challenge students and staff
- Be committed to developing a knowledge rich curriculum and to the implementation of Rosenshine’s principles of instruction
- Believe in the right of every student to succeed regardless of their starting points
- Have a track record of achieving successful outcomes at all key stages, including A Level Religious Studies (Philosophy and Ethics)
- Ideally have knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith
- Must support our Catholic ethos and contribute to our core vision and values
