Reading Specialist job summary
Do you love reading?
We are looking for an engaging professional for this brand-new role. The role will require you to:
· Deliver our reading interventions
· Run and lead our brand-new library provision
· Ensure our literature is diverse, engaging and of excellent quality.
· Have a good understanding early reading and development?
· Engage the wider community in reading workshops and events.
· Lead whole class sessions in the library
· Work with English department to ensure all children leave Gilberts with a passion for reading.
We want to ensure every pupil to flourish in reading and able to join the next stage in their education confident to access the curriculum. We are looking for someone who will work with our English department to identify pupils who need additional support and to provide early reading interventions We are keen to ensure all pupils can find themselves in literature through a diverse and engaging library. We want to raise the profile of reading through workshops and events that promote the power of reading. We want someone who takes pride in their environment so that when children walk into the library they can see the endless possibilities it has to offer.
