We currently have the following vacancy at Nigel Bowes Academy, 70 Ensbury Avenue, Bournemouth, BH10 4HG – Reception/Admin plus Midday Supervisor
We are seeking to appoint a confident and professional Reception/Admin Assistant to join the Nigel Bowes Academy – an outstanding special school for pupils aged 5-12 who present predominantly with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Duties may include: receiving visitors, arranging meetings, managing phone calls, taking minutes, monitoring attendance, liaising with other schools and external agencies, as required. The role will also include Midday Supervisor responsibilities including the serving and distribution of prepared hot food to pupils, from within a purpose-built dining area. We will support the successful candidate in the gaining of a Food Hygiene Certificate if necessary.
The successful candidate will work closely with all Administration Team members and curriculum staff, offering support where necessary. Excellent administration and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to be flexible when required. The post requires the use of all Microsoft Office applications (including Excel), SIMS database and other specific software used by the school, (training will be provided). The role involves regular contact with pupils, parents/carers, professionals and outside agencies, where candidates need to possess a confident, calm and polite manner to be able to work under pressure, prioritising the workload themselves and others, as appropriate.
