What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to appoint teachers both in reception Class and in key stage 2.
Are you passionate about making a difference to children’s lives? Are you an excellent teacher with children at the heart of your practice? Are you committed to continuous improvement, working with colleagues in school and beyond to secure success for all learners? Then Woodlesford primary is the school for you!
Our school is set in the beautiful village of Woodlesford on the outskirts of Rothwell, benefitting from excellent transport links. Our Victorian building is set amidst beautiful grounds with fields and forest and well-resourced outdoor provision for all children.
We are looking for teachers who are committed to relational behaviour practice, are passionate about inclusion and believe that all children deserve excellent quality first teaching. At Woodlesford we put kindness, respect and perseverance at the heart of all we do: our children and our staff live these values.
We believe that a child’s educational journey extends beyond the classroom and we are dedicated to providing a rich extra curricular offer, with 3 residentials and a variety of extra curricular clubs. Our teachers offer a host of sporting and creative opportunities and we are looking for teachers who will add to this.
Our curriculum is always developing as we constantly seek to provide the best opportunities for our learners. We are looking for teachers who will help us develop a diverse and rich curriculum, which is delivered using the most up to date research on teaching and learning.
What we can offer you:
- Well behaved and engaged pupils who have a passion for learning.
- Parents who are interested in their child’s education and will work with you to secure excellent outcomes for their children.
- A supportive leadership and staff team.
- Dedicated time for ppa with colleagues and timetabled subject leadership time.
- An outward facing school, that works with schools locally and beyond to secure excellence.
- A strong commitment to professional development with high quality CPD opportunities.
- Access to the LCC employee benefit programme.
- Should it be relevant to the applicant, we have a comprehensive ECT programme with experienced mentors.
We are looking for
- Dedicated teachers who understand the importance of working with families and colleagues to secure the best outcomes.
- Inspiring and excellent teachers who can make learning engaging, whilst maintaining high standards and ensuring outstanding progress for all learners.
- Teachers with high expectations of themselves and their teaching, and of the children they teach.
- Teachers who are committed to children’s welfare and safeguarding and who fully understand that safeguarding is the role of every member of staff in school.
- Staff who understand relational behaviour practice.
- Inclusive practitioners who are dedicated to providing the right scaffolds so that all learners can feel success.
- Outward facing individuals who are excited about internal and external collaboration.
- Teachers who can evidence working well as part of a team.
- Teachers who fully meet the teacher standards.
- Teachers who will lead a curriculum subject with passion and enthusiasm, extending learning opportunities beyond the national curriculum.
- Someone fully engaged with the wider life of the school and happy to take part in our extra curricular offer, running clubs and attending events.
- Teachers who take ownership of their development, are dedicated to self improvement and can strongly evidence putting research and training into practice.
- Our EY practitioner will be dedicated to providing children with experiences that extend, deepen and enhance. They will understand sustained shared thinking and intensive interaction. They will be an excellent teacher of phonics, understanding that early reading excellence is key to unlocking learning potential.
- Our EY practitioner will have a comprehensive understanding of all EY statutory frameworks and duties and an excellent understanding of Early childhood education and development.
These posts would be suitable for both experienced teachers or those who are beginning their career as ECTs.
