What skills and experience we're looking for

The Quality First Education (Q1E) Trust seeks a great reception class teacher to work at Belleville Primary School in Battersea. We are looking for someone who:

  • is enthusiastic and passionate about early years teaching and learning
  • loves working as part of a team (you will be one of five Reception class teachers in our school - great for collaboration and support!)
  • is excited about working for a large, successful, outstanding school
  • shares our drive for improvement, excellence and equality.

What the school offers its staff

Belleville is an ambitious, vibrant and supportive place to work.

Ofsted (March 2022) say:

  • Pupils thrive at Belleville. Pupils speak with enthusiasm about the rich curriculum they learn. Pupils behave very well and engage positively with their learning
  • Staff are proud to work at Belleville. They receive extensive professional development and are appreciative of this. They feel their workload is well managed by leaders who welcome their input on how the school operates. Teachers at the very beginning of their career feel especially well supported.

We are a very successful, popular, outstanding school with a focus on positive learning behaviour and high expectations for all children. We have two school sites (Belleville Webbs and Belleville Meteor) in a vibrant area with excellent transport links. Our proximity to Clapham Junction gives us easy access to central London and out across the south of England.

We have a well developed, outstanding curriculum with a full set of units and lesson plans. Lessons are reviewed during joint planning sessions to ensure all teachers feel well prepared and well supported. We have strong systems in place to help children achieve, so learning behaviour is excellent here. We provide amazing enrichment opportunities including visits, trips and clubs. We have a committed staff team, supportive parents and carers, and most importantly, truly incredible children!

Belleville is part of Quality First Education (Q1E), a successful Multi-Academy Trust with four south London primary schools.

Teachers at Q1E benefit from a developmental environment with plenty of opportunities for career growth. We provide full induction so you are really well prepared and supported - for example, ECTs receive three weeks of paid induction training before starting in the classroom.

This is an exciting time for us and we want the best people to join us!

Further details about the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an excellent teacher. You will benefit from:

  • Induction before starting in the classroom: we provide three weeks PAID induction training for ECTs in July
  • Lots of support and collaboration, working as part of a team of five friendly reception class teachers at Belleville, and a wider team across our four primary schools
  • A full set of lesson plans, already produced, within an outstanding early years curriculum
  • Working in an outstanding school where behaviour is excellent, parents and carers are supportive, staff are friendly, and leaders always have an "open door".

Please read the attached Q1E Teacher Pack for more details of the role, our school and our trust.
