What skills and experience we're looking for

The Quality First Education (Q1E) Trust is seeking one or more strong Reception class teachers for Belleville Primary School in south London.

Please read our Q1E Teacher Pack (see Additional Documents below) for our full role description.

What the school offers its staff

Belleville is an ambitious, vibrant and supportive place to work.

Ofsted (March 2022) say:

  • Pupils thrive at Belleville. Pupils speak with enthusiasm about the rich curriculum they learn. Pupils behave very well and engage positively with their learning
  • Staff are proud to work at Belleville. They receive extensive professional development and are appreciative of this. They feel their workload is well managed by leaders who welcome their input on how the school operates. Teachers at the very beginning of their career feel especially well supported.

We are a very successful, popular, outstanding school with a focus on positive learning behaviour and high expectations for all children. We have two school sites (Belleville Webbs and Belleville Meteor), a fantastic staff team and a supportive parent/carer community. We are in a vibrant area of south London with excellent transport links. Our proximity to Clapham Junction gives us easy access to central London and out across the south of England.

Teachers benefit from a supportive, developmental environment with plenty of opportunities for career growth. We have a well developed, outstanding curriculum with a full set of units and lesson plans. Lessons are reviewed during joint planning sessions to ensure all teachers feel well prepared and well supported. We have strong systems in place to help children achieve, so learning behaviour is excellent here. We provide amazing enrichment opportunities including visits, trips and clubs. We have a committed staff team, supportive parents and carers, and most importantly, truly incredible children!

Belleville is part of Quality First Education (Q1E), a successful Multi-Academy Trust with four primary schools on five sites across south London. This is an exciting time for us and we want the best people to join us as we grow further. We would love to hear from you.

Further details about the role

Please read our Q1E Teacher Pack for more details of the role, our school and our trust.

We recruit every year for new teachers to join us in September. Recruitment is ongoing until positions are filled. We encourage an early response, as applications are reviewed as they come in. We have opportunities available in all primary Key Stages but we are really keen to hear from those interested in teaching in Reception.

We have a single application form for our trust, so you can apply to more than one of our schools at the same time. We have four schools across south London - you can read about them in our Q1E Teacher Pack or on our website at www.q1e.org.uk.

To apply, please email your completed application and equal opportunities forms to recruitment@q1e.org.uk. We do not accept CVs. All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS with barred list check.

Commitment to safeguarding

All posts in Q1E schools are subject to an enhanced DBS with barred list check. It is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children. We may carry out online searches of shortlisted candidates.

At Q1E, we believe that “the quality of an education system cannot exceed the quality of its teachers” (McKinsey 2007). The recruitment, retention and development of high quality teachers is our highest priority.

All teachers new to the Trust receive pre-induction training before starting in post.
