Working pattern

Full time: This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday during term time, in line with the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD). The successful candidate will teach our Reception class and be fully involved in the life of the school. This fixed-term position is expected to run for 12 months from 1 September 2025.

Full-time equivalent salary

M1–UPS3 (£31,650 to £49,084), based on current 2024/25 national pay scales. This will be updated in line with any confirmed national pay award effective from September 2025.

What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with recent or relevant experience in EYFS
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS Statutory Framework and early years pedagogy
  • Experience of using observation-based assessment to track and support progress
  • Confident in delivering high-quality phonics, oracy, and early reading provision
  • Able to create a nurturing, inclusive and language-rich classroom environment
  • Skilled in behaviour management suited to young children
  • Committed to safeguarding, equity and the wider school ethos
  • Strong communicator with children, colleagues and parents
  • Organised, reflective, and proactive, with a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Willing to contribute to school life beyond the classroom, including enrichment and events

Further details about the role

This is a rewarding opportunity to lead our Reception class and give children the very best start to their school journey. You'll join a well-established EYFS team and be supported by experienced teaching assistants, a committed senior leadership team and a trust-wide network of professionals. The role includes planning and delivering a rich, engaging curriculum, supporting early language and phonics and building strong relationships with children and their families.
