What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Understanding of early years and the importance of early reading
  • Awareness of how children learn
  • Enthusiasm to research current educational developments and initiatives, particularly in the early years
  • Awareness of the importance of assessment and tracking progress
  • Awareness of the importance of safeguarding
  • A proven track record as a good/outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations of all learners in their care
  • Ability to articulate own vision for high quality education
  • Clear evidence of impact of teaching
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to teach high quality phonics and an understanding of how children learn to read
  • Ability to promote creative teaching and learning
  • Excellent listening skills

Holy Trinity Church of England Academy is a popular primary school situated in the Wiltshire town of Calne. The school was opened in 1866 and celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2016. The staff are warm, friendly, hard working and do their best for the children in their care. The school received a successful Ofsted inspection in November 2021.
