Receptionist (General Administrator) job summary
We are looking for a hardworking and motivated individual to join our Reception team as a General Administrator with a focus on supporting the Sixth Form and Careers teams. The ability to initiate, build and maintain good working relationships with staff, students and parents is essential for this role. The successful candidate should have good IT skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good organisational skills are also essential; the successful candidate must be able to manage their workload around core times of day. As this is a student facing role, confidence in dealing with young people is essential.
The working pattern for this position is Monday to Friday 9.00am– 2.30pm Term time to ensure the Sixth Form Entrance is staffed during core hours along with 5 INSET days per year.
Main duties will include but are not limited to:
Undertake reception duties, operating the switchboard and dealing with face-to-face enquiries and signing in of visitors and receiving post/deliveries
Welcome visitors in a warm, helpful and confident manner on entry into the school and provide a professional front of house service at all times, maintaining a welcoming and organised environment
Provide general clerical support using Google and Microsoft systems alongside SIMS and other software packages
Working effectively as part of the administration team, supporting other colleagues in their roles and participating in relevant training and professional development
Establish productive working relationships with students; acting as a role model and setting high expectations
An understanding of confidentiality at all times
