Your new school
Percy Shurmer Academy is a large two-form entry primary academy who currently have 450 pupils aged from 3 to 11 which also include 39 children in the Nursery and 22 deaf pupils in our Deaf Learning Base (DLB). The school is led by an ambitious and dedicated Principle, Mrs Sharon Burke who has been with the school since 2015 She has established a strong and personable team and in 2023 were graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted who recognised ''parents are overwhelmingly positive about the quality of education their children receive.''. They are now looking for an enthusiastic receptionist to join our team.
Your new role
The school is a vibrant and very busy school with a friendly culture and you will play an integral role by managing our busy reception to ensure everything runs as efficiently as possible. You will ultimately be at the heart of the school community and most people's first point of contact. Some of your duties will include answering calls promptly, managing the visitor system and schools inbox, updating pupils attendance and absences whilst following the safeguarding procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a personable and welcoming individual with experience of working in a busy reception environment. You will be able to multitask with an eye for detail whilst prioritising accordingly. You'll be able to communicate effectively with staff, pupils and parents and understand the importance of your role in the school.

The role is due to commence as soon as possible no ideally you will be on no more than four week notice. This is a permanent position.
