Either 8am - 12pm or 12pm - 4pm Each Day

We are seeking to appoint a Receptionist & Student Health Care Officer to join our friendly Educational Support Staff team. The Receptionist is the first point of call for visitors to the school, parents, staff and children. As the ‘face’ of the school the receptionist should be welcoming, personable, helpful and able to represent the school in a professional and friendly manner. In addition, it is essential that the person for this role is organized, able to multi-task, work flexibly and have a ‘can do’ approach to work, as no two days are the same.

The Student Health Care Officer will be the first point of contact for all students and staff if feeling unwell or have medical conditions or concerns. They will need to build professional and trusting relationships with the students, staff and parents. Make sure that accurate, timely and effective medical administrative support is given and relevant software is used. A good sense of humour and an ability to work as part of a close-knit team is essential.

The Adeyfield Academy is a 11-19 comprehensive school in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. There are approximately 560 students on roll including 70 in the Sixth Form. Our aim is to provide the highest quality education for each individual, supported by our motto of Learning Without Limits. The Adeyfield Academy has an enthusiastic, energetic and experienced staff body. There are many opportunities to become involved in extra-curricular activities including drama productions, musical events, sport and residential visits. The school is a rewarding environment in which to work, with excellent relationships between all members of our school community. Teamwork is at the core of our work and we value the input of all staff equally. We know that we are strongest when we all work together to achieve the best for all our students. We operate a 25 period, two-week timetable. A faculty system operates and Heads of Faculty lead the curriculum areas. A year system operates with all students allocated to a form group. In Year 7 -9 students are taught in half-year groups with setting in the core subjects. In Years 10-11, students follow a core of English, Maths, Science, PE, Citizenship, Geography or History with four option choices from a wide range of subjects. Open access to the Sixth Form encourages many students to stay on each year. Programmes of study include A-Level and Vocational courses. As a result of growing student numbers and a wider array of specialisms offered amongst staff, our KS5 curriculum continues to expand. The Adeyfield Academy continues to go from strength-to-strength and we want all students to achieve their best.
