What skills and experience we're looking for
St Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a dedicated and visionary Regional Improvement Officer to lead and implement our school improvement strategy across the secondary phase. This is a unique opportunity for experienced educational leaders to join a Trust committed to academic excellence and the Catholic ethos.
About Us
We currently comprise sixteen schools: thirteen primary and three secondary. By the end of the calendar year we expect to have a further secondary school join us on our journey.
Join us on our journey of growth and make a meaningful impact on the future of Catholic education across Bury, Bolton, Rochdale, Salford, and Wigan.
Our Mission
Our Trust Mission is simple, it is to make Christ known, making lives better for our communities, our children and young people.
Our Values
One of Hope
Inspired by St Teresa of Calcutta, we are people of hope. We have a complete belief in the future we will build together. By offering our children, staff and schools’ opportunities to grow and flourish, we make aspiration and ambition a reality. Our people, just like St Teresa are relentless and fiercely ambitious. We will always reach for that which seems to be just out of our grasp.
One of Courage
As modelled for us by St Teresa of Calcutta, we will have the courage to do what is right. As a community, we will not shy away from making decisions that ensure our communities thrive. We will be brave in our actions. As a truly Catholic organisation this courage will be most apparent in how we collectively support the most vulnerable.
One of Innovation
St Teresa of Calcutta changed the world. Together, we will always be pursuing new ideas and best practice in all areas of our work. We will prepare our children and young people for the world that awaits them. A world which they will shape and change.
We are seeking an individual who:
- Possess substantial experience in school improvement, either as a deputy headteacher/senior leader and/or through roles with Ofsted.
- Be committed to strategic planning and thinking, driving a cohesive vision aligned with our Catholic values.
- Be a seasoned leader with a proven track record of accelerating progress and raising standards in secondary education.
- Demonstrate the ability to build strong cultures of continuous improvement.
- Effectively evaluate school performance and leverage extensive knowledge to close gaps and uplift outcomes for vulnerable students.
- Inspire and lead complex changes across schools, fostering collaboration and high expectations.
What the school offers its staff
- A chance to join a progressive and innovative Performance team.
- The opportunity to influence school improvement across multiple Catholic secondary schools within our Trust.
- A caring and engaged community of stakeholders.
- Strong support from our Central Team and Trust Board, committed to your success.
- Professional and spiritual development opportunities supported by the Trust and the Diocese.
- Access to robust collaborative networks at the local and borough levels.
- Employer contributions to the Teacher Pension Scheme.
