What skills and experience we're looking for
Essential Criteria
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Able to communicate effectively with a range of people
- To organise and participate in the activities with the pupils
- Excellent listening skills
- Work in line with the school’s behaviour policy
- Be able to use a range of strategies for managing pupil behaviour
- Awareness of equal opportunities issues
- Able to form and maintain appropriate professional relationships and boundaries with the children
- Knowledge and understanding of the school’s Health and Safety and safeguarding policy
- Prompt and reliable
- Willing to be flexible and to work in different parts of the school
Desirable
- Experience of working with children in a supervisory capacity in a school setting
- First Aid Qualification
- The ability to work effectively under pressure
- Be prepared to get involved in other aspects of school life as appropriate
