Reset Room Manager job summary
As reset room manager, you would be responsible for the orderly running of the reset room and to help students reflect on their behaviour, so that they will be able to not be removed from future lessons. We are looking for a candidate who has excellent relationships with young people, organisational skills and understands that behaviour is communication.

Job Purpose:
- To lead the coordination and implementation of the College’s Reset Room provision, providing supervision and support for students whose behaviours are creating a barrier to learning and/or are placing themselves at risk of exclusion.
- To work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to provide a lead support role within the school to address the needs of pupils in terms of covering behaviour related barriers to learning, attainment and achievement of progress.
- To support the implementation of the College’s behaviour policies and to support young people to engage successfully and positively with their learning.
- To work flexibly as a key member of the College’s student behaviour and student pastoral support team which works to facilitate student access to and success in classroom learning.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To lead the college’s RESET Learning Recovery provision and to monitor student behaviour within the provision
- Assist students to follow behaviour expectations and learning programmes in the RESET Learning Recovery provision.
- Develop, plan and implement strategies to address the behavioural needs of student and to offer information, advice and guidance to other staff regarding the support of students.
- Support Assistant Principal in charge of student conduct to ensure disciplined behaviour system is robustly and effectively implemented so that students experience a consistent approach across the College in respect of praise and, where appropriate sanctions.
- Support the Principal with evidence collecting and record keeping for any exclusions and / or tribunals.
- To liaise with the parents/carers regularly, supporting the effective communication between the College and home.
- Develop and implement action plans for identified students relating directly to their individual needs and circumstances and to contribute to review and reintegration meetings when required.
- Ensure effective communication with the SENDCO, Head of Year, Head of Faculty, teaching staff, learning support assistants, pastoral staff and other student support staff.
- Monitor, evaluate students’ responses, progress and achievements against the action plan through techniques such as observation, gathering and analysing relevant data.
- Establish, maintain positive and appropriate mentoring relationships with students that engages, motivates and removes barriers to learning, aimed at achieving the goals defined in their action plans.
- Encourage students to take responsibility by providing a range of information, advice and guidance to support and enable them to make choices about their own learning and behaviour.
- Log all appropriate information correctly on the College’s monitoring systems e.g. Arbor, CPOMs, Provision Maps etc, and, where appropriate, train other colleagues in respect of the effective recording of information.
- Work to improve student behaviour through a pro-active approach informed by trend analysis and through maintaining a clear and positive framework for behaviour management in line with the College’s Behaviour Policy.
- Be responsible for promoting the welfare of students by identifying potential child abuse and following safeguarding procedures in accordance with the College’s Child Protection Policy.
- To carry out administrative tasks associated with the role and related duties and to maintain effective records and monitoring procedures.
- To provide regular feedback to the Assistant Principal & SENDCO, students, parents, teachers and other professionals, as appropriate, regarding progress made by individuals advise/recommend further support required to ensure that agreed goals are achieved.
- To be aware of and work in accordance with the College’s safeguarding policies and procedures, and to raise any concerns relating to such procedures which may be noted during the course of duty.
- To maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties, releasing confidential information obtained during the course of employment only to those acting in an official capacity.
- To attend all staff meetings as required.
- Be responsible for your own self-development on a continuous basis.
- To contribute the overall ethos and aims of the College.
- To undertake other duties appropriate to the grading to the post required.
- Implementing and supervising Internal exclusions and isolations.
- Maintain record keeping and data collection on exclusions.
- Management of RESET systems.
- Management of whole school detention system.

Qualified to Degree Level - Desirable
Numeracy/literacy skills at least equivalent to Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework - Essential

Experience:
Proven experience of working with disaffected children of relevant age - Desirable

Knowledge:
