What skills and experience we're looking for

St Andrew’s Academy is a day/residential special school for pupils with severe learning disabilities and ASD aged 11-19 years St Andrew’s Academy Council are seeking to appoint an innovative, flexible and professional Residential Child Care Officer (RCCO) to join our friendly and hardworking team in this successful school to enhance our thriving provision for young people with learning difficulties and /or Autism within the residential 24 hour education provision The successful candidate will have: • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Caring for Children and Young People (CCYP) or similar childcare qualification • SEN and residential experience and an interest in ASD • Excellent interpersonal skills • A commitment to self-improvement and ongoing CPD • Ability to demonstrate positive behaviour management techniques and skills • A commitment to providing person centered learning opportunities to enhance our young people’s independence and social skills • Ability to work unsocial hours on a fixed weekly rota (weekdays only)
