Salary: £23,840 - £25,883 per annum

30 hours 30 minutes per week 8.30 - 4pm Monday, Thursday & Friday (plus 2 after school meetings per week which finish at 4.30pm or 4.45pm on Tuesdays & Wednesdays)

Term time only plus 5 days (39 weeks per year)

Beechwood is a 4 form entry primary school in the Leagrave area of Luton.

We are seeking a capable, reliable and highly motivated Room Leader with sound literacy and numeracy skills for our in-house provision space. In this role, you will champion the learning and developmental needs of individuals and groups of children across both indoor and outdoor environments, including providing crucial lunchtime support and assisting with intimate care as required. Working under the direct guidance of the SENDCo, you will specialise in supporting high-needs pupils and 1:1 individuals through a bespoke sensory curriculum.

Your day to day responsibilities will include

  • Targeted Interventions: Delivering intensive interactions, running Attention Autism activities and setting up daily sensory circuits to support children with their emotional and physical regulation
  • Curriculum & Planning: Setting up engaging learning activities that directly follow the children’s interests and individual targets, while actively contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Heath and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Partnership with Parents: Serving as a primary point of contact by confidently communicating children’s progress, triumphs and daily care needs with parents at drop-off and pick-up times
