We are seeking a passionate and experienced Safeguarding and Family Welfare Officer to join our dedicated team. This key role involves working closely with children and families to provide support, access services, and ensure the highest standards of safeguarding and pastoral care.
About the Role
As our school-based Safeguarding & Family Welfare Officer, you will:
- Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), managing safeguarding referrals and representing the school at Core Group and Strategy Meetings.
- Be a primary point of contact for staff, pupils and families regarding safeguarding concerns.
- Work directly with vulnerable children and families to identify barriers, provide support, and deliver planned interventions.
- Liaise with external agencies and refer families to appropriate services, ensuring a co-ordinated approach to care and support.
- Manage a caseload and maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding procedures.
- Demonstrate courage and professionalism when having difficult conversations and supporting those in crisis.

- Is willing to embrace our trauma-informed approach and work in line with our values and ethos.
- Understands the importance of advocacy and inclusion, and always puts children first.
