Job Title: Safeguarding Officer
Location: Compass Primary Academy
Salary: £39,400-£41,400 (fte)
Hours per week /Weeks per year: 37 hours / 40 Weeks (out of term working arrangements to be negotiated with the Principal)
About this Role
We are looking to appoint a motivated, caring and highly-skilled Safeguarding Officer to join our happy, caring, forward thinking Compass Family. Children are at the heart of all that we do and we have worked hard to establish a culture of ensuring our children feel safe, happy and want to succeed.

The Safeguarding Officer will therefore sustain and grow the ethos of listening to children; taking account of their wishes and feelings and taking the necessary action to ensure that the voice of the child is heard.
The Safeguarding Officer will ensure that safeguarding policies and procedures are developed and maintained to the highest standards so that children’s safety is actively promoted and rigorously pursued.
If you:
− have experience of meeting the needs of children and families;
− have high expectations and a commitment to ensuring every child is able to access the opportunities they deserve;
− have a sound knowledge of child development and children’s social and emotional needs;
− have an understanding of safeguarding issues and laws;
− are flexible, able to work on your own initiative, under pressure and have the ability to prioritise to meet demands and deadlines;
− are able to bring energy and enthusiasm to the role;
And you are able to:
Take responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the school.
Advise and support staff on child welfare and protection matters.
Raise awareness of safeguarding and child protection
Undergo and be responsible for training staff in safeguarding matters
