What skills and experience we're looking for

The main purpose of the role:

  • Working alongside the teaching staff to support our young people in their learning
  • Support our young people to identify, meet and exceed their education targets
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Essential requirements:

  • Commitment to the role and ethos of the school
  • Experience of working within an inclusive setting (3 years), including relevant knowledge and experience of young people within age range
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches, including managing behaviours that challenge, skills in differentiated learning and multisensory techniques
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE English and Maths - minimum grade 4 or equivalent is essential, to be tested at interview)
  • NVQ qualification (level 2/3 or its equivalent)
  • Competent ICT skills
  • An optimistic, enthusiastic and motivated approach
  • Be able to work on your own as well as part of a team
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and professionals with good interpersonal skills
